WEC Hair Booking Protocols and International Visitor Policies

Since the pandemic, we have received many visits from tourists and people who have recently started working in Japan. While we are very grateful, WEC Hair operates strictly by appointment only; we almost never accommodate walk-in haircuts.

Pricing for Walk-ins and Same-day Bookings

Fees are different for walk-in services or bookings made on the same day:

• Walk-in/Same-day Haircut: ¥13,200
• Walk-in/Same-day Shampoo & Blow-dry: ¥9,900
• Walk-in/Same-day Cut & Color: ¥26,500

Initial Fees for First-time Visitors

An initial fee applies only to tourists visiting to WEC Hair for the first time. This fee does not apply to those who have moved to Japan.

Note: Kenji almost remembers clients from the last five years. Your residence card may be required.(sometimes)

• Weekdays (11:00–17:00): 20% surcharge (15% for 14:00 bookings only).
• Weekdays after 17:00, Weekends, and Holidays: 35% surcharge.

Busy Season Policies (Nov 23 – Jan 4 and Feb 23 – May 5): December is a busy time for hair salons worldwide, and in Japan, the period before the new school/fiscal year in April is also peak season. During these times, “souvenir haircuts” by tourists can reduce the available slots for our regular clients. Consequently, initial fees are adjusted in December, March, and April to prioritize regular customers, making it difficult for first-time tourists to book during these months.

Repeat clients(even tourists) are always welcome at regular prices.

• Busy Season – Weekdays (11:00–17:00): 35% surcharge (15% for 14:00 bookings only).
• Busy Season – Weekdays after 17:00, Weekends, and Holidays: 50% surcharge.

Specific Time Slots for Tourists Weekdays at 14:00 (or 13:30, 15:00) are the designated time slots for tourist bookings.

While it is often difficult to secure appointments at other times, the period between 13:30 and 16:00 on weekdays is relatively less busy. For first-time tourists who can schedule their visit during this specific window, we offer a 15％ initial fee. We strongly encourage you to utilize these time slots.

Deposits and Rules

• Deposits: Due to an increase in no-shows, first-time tourists must pay a deposit for weekend bookings or long menu items. If the deposit is not paid, the reservation will be cancelled.
• Punctuality: In Japan, it is expected that you attend your scheduled appointment. If you are 10 minutes late, your appointment will be automatically cancelled to avoid inconveniencing the next guest.　Please contact us if there are any delays in public transportation.
• Manners and Respect: we do not accept customers who lack manners, show no respect for staff, or CANNOT speak English.
• Photography/SNS: Taking photos or videos for social media in the presence of other customers without permission is a breach of etiquette.
